Ethiopians in Qatar recongnized for their outstanding responses to national calls

Addis Ababa, August 22, 2022 (FBC) – At the Ethiopian embassy in Qatar, various sections of Ethiopian society were recognized for their responses to national calls, including contributions to the construction of the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam.

The Ethiopian Embassy in Qatar organized an appreciation program, which was attended by many Ethiopians in Qatar and Ethiopians living in the Doha area, and was supported by private and public organizations.

Feisel ALIYI, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ethiopia to Qatar, stated that the thanksgiving program was held to recognize Ethiopians in Qatar for purchasing and donating bonds for the construction of the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam; for promoting the country’s favorable investment, trade, and tourism resources; for combating unbalanced reports and unnecessary interventions on Ethiopia; and for supporting citizens displaced due to natural and man-made disasters.

Ambassador Feisel expressed gratitude to the Ethiopian community in Qatar for their unity, cooperation in times of need, and valuable contributions to Qatar, and stated that the Ethiopian government will provide them with the necessary support so that the various public organizations operating in Qatar can continue to play important roles in Ethiopia’s journey to prosperity.

The leaders of various Ethiopian organizations who took part in the thanksgiving program expressed their delight that the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam had been filled for the third time and that the second turbine had begun to operate after overcoming numerous challenges.
