Ethiopians in Botswana affirm commitment to support noble causes in Ethiopia
Addis Ababa, June 14, 2022 (FBC) – A delegation led by Deputy Mission Chief of the Ethiopian Embassy in South Africa, Mulugeta Wuletaw had paid a visit to Botswana from 9-12 June 2022.
The delegation met and held talks with the Ethiopian Community in Botswana about their activities in Botswana, services the community may get from the Embassy and the commendable support they have continued to provide for critical causes in Ethiopia.
Their discussion also included the current situations in Ethiopia, such as humanitarian aid to conflict-affected regions, law enforcement measures, activities of the National Dialogue Commission and selection of its commissioners as well as the filling and construction of the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam.
About 25 members from the Ethiopian Community Association in Botswana have donated about 11,000 USD to support people in need of humanitarian assistance and bought 1,500 USD worth of the GERD bond.
Professor Gulelat Dessie, representing the Ethiopian Community Association in Botswana also briefed the delegation about the activities of the Association.
