Ethiopians, Eritreans to protest against H.R. 6600, S. 3199 draft bills in U.S. cities

Addis Ababa, April 9, 2022 (FBC) – Ethiopians and Eritreans and friends living in the U.S. are to hold peaceful demonstrations in Washington D.C. and Los Angeles protesting the draconian draft bills – H.R. 6600 and S. 3199.

Peace and Unity for Ethiopia Washington Task Force Coordinator, Tasew Melakehiwot said demonstrators will chant slogans saying “The H.R. 6600 and S. 3199 draft bills hurt Ethiopian-American relations”, “Sanctions Kill“ and “HR 6600 and S 3199 must be revoked”

Tasew called upon the Diaspora community to strengthen its efforts in briefing senators and congress people in their respective constituencies about negative consequences of the draft bills and preventing them approval.

He said efforts are underway to consult with congress people and senators in order to ensure that the laws are not approved.
