Ethiopian, USAID sign partnership agreement
Addis Ababa, October 16, 2020 (FBC) – Ethiopian Airlines and USAID have signed a partnership agreement aimed to source local agricultural produces for catering service in the aviation group.
The partnership enables the airlines to locally source agricultural produces from local farmers to address passengers with authentic taste of Ethiopian dishes, the airlines said.
CEO of Ethiopian Airlines, Tewolde Gebremariam and US Ambassador to Ethiopia, Michael Raynor have signed the agreement in an event organized under the theme “Supporting local agricultural producers to cater Ethiopian Aviation Group”
“The new partnership consolidates our effort to continue providing high-quality in-flight meals to global passengers while intensifying our effort in creating an enabling environment for local farmers across the value chain.” Tewolde added.
The US Ambassador Michael Raynor to his part said “The partnership we are launching today demonstrates what’s achievable when prominent businesses like Ethiopian Airlines invest in other Ethiopian businesses and individuals.”
Agreement signed between the airlines and the USAID will contribute to enhance livelihoods of Ethiopian farmers as well as supporting them in penetrating the world market through their products, it is stated on the occasion.
