Ethiopian, Russian leaders discuss ways to address COVID19 crisis
Addis Ababa, April 7, 2020 (FBC) – Prime Minister Dr Abiy Ahmed has held phone discussion with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
The two leaders discussed strengthened relations between Ethiopia and Russia in addressing the COVID19 crisis.
“I’m particularly pleased that President Putin champions coordinated support from IMF, World Bank and G20 support for the African continent as we work to withstand economic shocks,” the Prime Minister Tweeted.
The leaders have also considered some topical aspects of developing bilateral relations.
The Prime Minister also conferred yesterday with World Bank President, David Malpass, on debt suspension to counter the macroeconomic shock of the COVID19 crisis and additional financial support for response efforts.
