Ethiopian parliament approves agreement with Djibouti to build natural gas pipeline
Addis Ababa, December 24, 2019 (FBC) – The House of Peoples’ Representative (HPR) approved today the deal signed with Djibouti to build a natural gas pipeline.
Ethiopia signed the agreement early this year to build the pipeline which enables it to transport natural gas from Ogaden area to an export terminal in Djibouti.
The House approved the agreement as it meets international requirements and allow the country to generate foreign currency from gas export.
The House added that the agreement would further cement the previously concluded deals.
The house also approved the draft bill on Federal Prison Administration, while referring the ‘Convention on the Recognition and Enforcement of Foreign Arbitral Awards’ bill to pertinent standing committees for further scrutiny.
