Ethiopian Muslims celebrate Maulid Al Nabi with various religious events
Addis Ababa, October 18, 2021 (FBC) – Ethiopian Muslims all over the country are celebrating the Al Maulid Al nabawi or Prophet Mohammed’s Birthday with various religious events.
In the capital, Addis Ababa, the Muslim Community celebrated Al Maulid Al Nabawi at the Grand Mosque with prayers and spiritual events commemorating the birth of Prophet Mohammed.
Muslims in Gondar City celebrated the Maulid Al Nabi Jami Al Kabir Mosque in attendance of Imam Shiek Ibrahim Mohammed and other religious leaders.
Harar town also marked the Birthday of Prophet Mohammed at the Grand Shewa Ber Mosque in the presence of thousands of faithful with various religious events including prayers and spiritual songs.
Other cities and towns have also marked the Maulid festival colorfully with various events.
Besides the outdoor events, Ethiopians celebrate the Maulid holiday by visiting the poor and relatives and other joyful indoor activities such as rejoicing with traditional foods, drinks and songs with beloved ones.
