Ethiopian joint forces control the strategic Woldia-Mekelle highway, capture several towns

Addis Ababa, December 11, 2021 (FBC) – The Joint Forces of Ethiopia led by the Commander-in-Chief of the Army and Prime Minster Abiy Ahmed has controlled the strategic Woldia-Mekelle highway and captured several other towns.

Many of militants of the terrorist TPLF have been routed on several fronts, and others who survived the heavy offensive have retreated cowardly to several places. Many of soldiers of the terrorist TPLF have also been left injured in the operation.

The joint forces have taken control of the Zobl mountainous area and other very significant towns including Arjo, Fokissa and Boren.

Following capture of the Strategic Gura Workie areas, the joint forces have fully controlled the Woldia-Mekelle road, Government Communications Service disclosed.

The Ethiopian forces have also retaken Dire Roka and Sodoma military strategic towns, and advancing to Hara town.

On Wuchale front, the forces have captured the strategic mountain chain of Ambassel, Robit and Golbo, Mille Kotcha of Worebabo Woreda, Kolbon area of Habru Woreda and Merkata and Faji localties, is marching on Mersa town.

Government Communications Service stated that the military offensive that has been undertaken by the Mechanized and Air Forces of the Ethiopian National Defense Force has left the terrorist TPLF fighters with heavy causalities. The Ethiopian forces has routed many of the terrorist group forces and blocked them from transporting what they have plundered from several areas to Mekelle after cutting off the highway to Mekelle.

The Forces have dealt the terrorist TPLF fighters strong blow in many fronts as the enemy is now crumbling and heavily frustrating from the coordinating military offensive led by the Prime Minister, Government Communications Service added.
