Ethiopian inks MoU with 3 institutions to synergize nat’l aviation dev’t initiatives
Addis Ababa, January 13, 2024 (FBC) – Ethiopian Airlines Group, Ministry of Labor and Skills, Ethiopian Civil Aviation Authority and Ethiopian Aero Club have signed memorandum of understanding (MoU) today to synergizing the national aviation development initiatives in Ethiopia.
Signing the agreement, Ethiopian Group CEO Mesfin Tasew said the Ethiopian Airlines has been playing crucial role for the aviation industry to reach the current level.
The largest airline in Africa, Ethiopian has a great reputation across the globe for its outstanding services, exemplary to inspire other African airlines, Mesfin indicated.
For the airline to reach this level, the manpower has played greater role with the works carried out on human resources development and training.
The aviation training school has been providing training to plenty of aviation professionals for the last 80 years producing more than 17,000 including 1,802 pilots, 5,451 Cabin Crew, more than 5,480 airplane maintenance professionals, and more than 3,881sales and service employees among others.
Noting that aviation profession has a big role for the country’s inclusive development, he said creating sufficient awareness for students from lower school level is still critical.
The MoU signed today is a pledge to work together, he said, adding based on the agreement we have to work on Ethiopian youth starting from school level in creating awareness about aviation profession.
Similarly, Minister of Labor and Skills Muferihat Kamil said the agreement will create an opportunity to share experiences of institutions to provide quality training for aviation professionals as Ethiopian airlines laid huge foundation in the sector.
To maintain the leading status of the airlines in Africa, cooperation is pivotal, the minister pointed out.
