Ethiopian Federal Police Chief receives Djibouti Presidential medal
Addis Ababa, June 24, 2023 (FBC) – In a recognition of his exceptional contributions to enhancing police and security collaboration between Ethiopia and Djibouti, Commissioner General Demelash Gebremichael of the Federal Police Commission was awarded the prestigious Presidential Medal of Recognition by Prime Minister Abdoulkader Kamil Mohamed.
The award recognizes Ethiopia’s federal police commission tireless efforts in fostering collaboration and addressing common security challenges. It highlights the significance of joint operations between Ethiopia and Djibouti to ensure peace and security.
The ceremony took place during Commissioner General Gebremichael working visit to Djibouti, coinciding with the commemoration of the 46th anniversary of the establishment of the Djibouti National Police.
During his visit, Commissioner General Demelash Gebremichael held important discussions with Colonel Abdourahman A. Kahin, Director General of the National Police of Djibouti, as well as Somali Police Commissioner, General Sulub Ahmed Firin.
The discussions focused on strengthening cooperation and information sharing between the respective police forces, with the aim of bolstering security along the vital Ethio-Djibouti corridor and beyond.
The Commissioner General also paid a visit to Doraleh Multipurpose port and engaged in productive discussions with its CEO, Mr. Djama Ibrahim Darar.
