Ethiopian Federal Police chief honored with Great Wall Commemorative Medal Award
Addis Ababa, September 7, 2024 (FBC) – Chief Commissioner of the Ethiopian Federal Police, General Demelash Gebre-Michael, has received the Great Wall Commemorative Medal Award from Mr. Wang Xiaohong, State Council and Minister of the Public Security of the People’s Republic of China on the 6th of September 2024 in Beijing, China.
According to the Ethiopian Embassy in Beijing, General Demelash was honored with the award for his “eminent efforts in enhancing Ethiopia–China bilateral law enforcement cooperation and promoting China-East Africa regional law enforcement cooperation, as well as for his leadership roles in protecting the Chinese investors and employees residing in Ethiopia.
The Great Wall Commemorative Gold Medal was established by the Ministry of Public Security of China in 2020, to be awarded especially to law enforcement officers from foreign countries that have made outstanding contributions towards protecting the safety of Chinese citizens overseas.
Besides the award ceremony, the two high -level officials had a “candid” conversation on multiple ranges of issues of promoting bilateral and regional law enforcement cooperation.
