Ethiopian, Eritrean leaders inaugurate Batu Dugda irrigation project

Addis Ababa, May 4, 2020 (FBC) – Prime Minister Dr Abiy Ahmed along with Eritrean President Isaias Afewerki have inaugurated the Batu Dugda irrigation project in Oromia regional state today.

Chief Administrator of the regional state, Shemelis Abdissa and the former Ethiopian Prime Minister, Hailemariam Dessalegn, attended the inauguration ceremony.

The Batu Dugda irrigation project currently has a capacity of developing 2,000 hectares of land with a potential to develop 15,000 hectares up on the completion of its expansion works.

The two leaders also visited a nursery site .
