Ethiopian envoy meets with Libyan FM to discuss enhancing bilateral cooperation
Addis Ababa, November 21, 2024 (FBC) – Ethiopia’s Ambassador to Libya, Hassan Ibrahim Musa met on Wednesday in Tripoli with the Foreign Minister of the North African nation Al-Taher Al-Baour to discuss strengthening bilateral relations.
The meeting focused on the outcomes of Prime Minister Abdulhamid Dbeibah’s recent visit to Addis Ababa, which included reactivating the Joint High Committee between the two countries, according to a report from Libyan News Agency.
Discussions also covered plans to sign additional agreements and memorandums of understanding to advance shared interests.
Key topics included the possibility of establishing a direct Ethiopian Airlines route to Libyan cities and exchanging high-level ministerial visits to resume the committee’s work. Talks also addressed reopening Ethiopia’s embassy in Tripoli.
Al-Baour informed the ambassador that a Libyan delegation of experts and investment company representatives is set to visit Addis Ababa to explore further opportunities for cooperation.
