Ethiopian Embassies in South Africa, UAE celebrate 126th Anniversary of Adwa Victory
Addis Ababa, March 4, 2022 (FBC) – The 126th Adwa Victory Anniversary organized by the Embassy of Ethiopia in Pretoria was colorfully celebrated with representatives from the Department of International Relations and Cooperation, Ambassadors of different African Countries, Ethiopian community representatives, Friends of Ethiopia and organizations were in attendance.
On the anniversary of this historical Occasion Ethiopian food, Music and Art were showcased, the late Dr. Laureate Artist Lema Guya’s daughter Netsanet Lema Guya has exhibited her Artwork, out of those showcased were Paintings called Victory and Celebration which she especially made for the 126th Anniversary of Adwa Victory.
Deputy Head of Mission Mulugeta Wuletaw in his speech thanked the invitees in attendance by reminding all that the battle of Adwa is both an Ethiopian and African Victory and mentioned important and positive current political developments in Ethiopia. He said: “The government of Ethiopia has put its maximum efforts to solve the existing challenges peacefully.”
Likewise, the Ethiopian embassy in UAE celebrated the 126th Anniversary of the victory of Adwa on the premises of Dubai Expo2020.
Speaker of the House of Peoples Representatives, Tagesse Chafo, and UAE Minister of Tolerance, Sheikh Nahyan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan presented speeches appreciating the growing relationship between Ethiopia and the UAE, which also is exhibited through Ethiopia’s participation in Dubai Expo 2020 under the banner of “Land of Origins.”
“ADWA: Unity for Ethiopians; the Dawn for Africa’s Freedom” was the 126th Adwa Victory Anniversary motto.
