Ethiopian Electric Utility, Safaricom ink concrete pole lease agreement

Addis Ababa, March 21, 2022 (FBC) – Ethiopian Electric Utility and Safaricom Ethiopia have signed concrete pole lease agreement.

The agreement was signed by Shiferaw Telila, CEO of Ethiopian Electric Service, and Anwar Soussa, CEO of Safaricom-Ethiopia Pvt Ltd.

Shiferaw Telila said the concrete pillar lease agreement will enable Safaricom Ethiopia use the electricity infrastructure for telecom services.

Shiferaw elaborated that the rental service will allow joint use of electric poles in the country and will significantly increase the revenue of the institution.

Anwar Soussa, for his part, said the agreement will be implemented with concrete poles installed in selected cities of the country.
