Ethiopian Diaspora Service, Institute for Mexicans Abroad hold experience sharing on diaspora participation

Addis Ababa, March 6, 2024 (FBC) – An Ethiopian delegation led by the Diaspora Services Director General, Mohammed Idris is paying a working visit to Mexico.

During its stay the delegation will have an experience sharing meeting with an institution that works on the Diaspora Affairs of Mexico.

The delegation met with Ambassador María Teresa Mercado Pérez, Undersecretary of Foreign Affairs of Mexico to discuss cooperation on how to leverage potentials of the Diaspora to advancing development endeavors.

Experience sharing was conducted between the Ethiopian Diaspora Service and the Institute for Mexicans Abroad in the area of Diaspora participation in overall activities of the countries.

Ambassador María Teresa Mercado Pérez said the experience sharing is significant to promote the longstanding the historical relationship between Ethiopia and Mexico.

It was also stated that engagement between the two institutions would also help foster relations between Ethiopia and Mexico in terms of strengthening protection of rights of nationals living abroad.
