Ethiopian diaspora contribute 1.6bln birr to support victims of conflict
Addis Ababa, September 13, 2022 (FBC) – The Ethiopian Diaspora Service has announced that it has contributed more than 1.6 billion birr for the revitalization of conflict-torn areas in Ethiopia.
Ethiopian Diaspora Service Communications Director, Wondwosen Girma, said that the movements and public rallies that took place last year were mainly to condemn the agenda of GERD being taken to UN Security Council.
Members of the diaspora in different continents, including the United States, have held more than 40 peaceful demonstrations, said Wondwosen.
In addition, the diaspora community condemned the countries that show lack of respect to Ethiopia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity by fueling the war against terrorist TPLF.
He also noted that the digital campaign, including the ‘#NoMore’ movement have created huge impact across the globe, and this effort will continue in the future, as per FM Addis 97.1.
