Ethiopian delegation participates in 18th CII-EXIM Bank conclave

Addis Ababa, June 17, 2023 (FBC) – Ethiopian Embassy participated in the 18th CII-EXIM Bank conclave on India-Africa Growth Partnership, held from 14-16 June 2023 in New Delhi, India.

During his opening remarks, Dr. S. Jaishankar, Minister of External Affairs of India, stated that India’s development partnership with Africa will have a strong focus on digital, green, healthcare, food security and water, in tune with the pressing needs and priorities of Africa, the Embassy indicated.

He added “For India, and it is important that our African partners appreciate this, for India, the rise of Africa is key to global rebalancing.”

On the sidelines of the Conclave, the Ethiopian delegation briefed Indian investors on trade and investment opportunities. Ambassador Demeke Atnafu had also been interviewed by three media outlets where he expounded Ethiopia’s profile, trade and investment opportunities, priority areas, favorable conditions and incentives and extended his invitation to Indian investors to invest in Ethiopia.

Furthermore, Ambassador Demeke conferred with Mr. S. Swaminathan, CEO and Founder of IRIS Business, on the current status of FinTech Initiative in Ethiopia and its opportunities.

It is noted that the Conclave was organized by Confederation of Indian Industry and EXIM Bank. African Embassies, business communities and representatives of the Government of India took part in it.
