Ethiopian delegation arrives in Bahrain to discuss opening of consulate

Addis Ababa, March 3, 2020 (FBC) –An Ethiopian delegation led by Birtukan Ayano, State Minister of Foreign Affairs, has arrived in Bahrain to discuss the opening of consulate general.

During a discussion with Ethiopians living in the Middle East countries last month, Prime Minister Dr Abiy pledged that his government will open a consulate to closely follow up the status of migrants in Bahrain.

Accordingly, the delegation will hold consultations with Bahrain officials regarding the opening of the consulate.

The delegation will also confer with Ethiopian community and Foreign Minister and other relevant Bahrain officials on the rights, benefit and safety of Ethiopians.

Moreover, the delegation will hold discussion with Bahrain officials on bilateral issues of mutual interest.
