Ethiopian Christians observing Good Friday
Addis Ababa, April 30, 2021 (FBC) – Ethiopian Christians are observing Good Friday commemorating Crucifixion of Jesus on Golgotha.
Thousands of Orthodox and Catholic Christians have congregated in various churches, and attending services and making kneeling and prostration remembering the passion of the Lord Jesus Christ. Good Friday marks the end of the Great Lent in Ethiopian Orthodox Church.
Clergymen are reciting and reading biblical verses and chanting religious songs revering what Jesus Christ did to bring salvation for humankind.
Patriarch of the Ethiopian Orthodox Church, His Grace Abune Matias urged the faithful to translate teachings Jesus Christ in to action and play their role in maintaining peace, harmony and love among one another.
