Ethiopian Catholic Christians colourfully celebrate Timket festival

Addis Ababa, January 19, 2023 (FBC) – The Ethiopian Catholic Christians colourfully celebrated Timket festival with various religious ceremonies at the Lideta Mariam Catholic Church.

The Timket festival was observed with various religious events; such as mass, prayer and hymn. It is stated that religious leaders, followers of the faith, and other guests were present at the festival.

The Prelate of the Ethiopian Catholic Church, His Beatitude Cardinal Berhaneyesus Souraphiel, stated that when observing the Timket holiday, it should be celebrated with mutual love, compassion and unity.

Cardinal Berhaneyesus emphasized that the faithful should also do good deeds when they celebrate the festival, according to ENA’s report.
