Ethiopian athletes racked up 18 medals at African Games 2023
Addis Ababa, March 23, 2024 (FBC) – The Ethiopian athletics team amassed a total of 18 medals across various athletics disciplines at the thirteenth edition of the All African Games held in Accra, Ghana.
The event, which took place at Accra University from 8-23 March, concluded with Ethiopia’s athletes making a significant impact. Represented by a strong contingent of 47 male and 40 female athletes, Ethiopia’s team showcased exceptional talent on the track and field as well as in boxing.
Their impressive performance resulted in a medal haul of 7 gold, 7 silver, and 4 bronze medals, positioning Ethiopia in second place in the athletics standings, just behind Nigeria.
This achievement underscores Ethiopia’s prowess in the realm of African athletics and highlights the remarkable success of the athletes at the prestigious All African Games.
The event, which took place at Accra University from 8-23 March, witnessed the participation of more than 640 athletes representing 50 African countries.
