Ethiopian ambassador meets with King Abdullah II of Jordan

Addis Ababa, March 3, 2025 (FMC) — Ethiopia’s Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates, Jordan, and Syria, Oumer Hussein, who is based in Abu Dhabi, formally presented his credentials to His Majesty King Abdullah II of Jordan today in a ceremony held at Basmane Palace in Amman.

During the occasion, Ambassador Oumer conveyed a message of goodwill and warm greetings from the President of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, Taye Atske-Selassie, to the Jordanian government and people.

In his address, the Ambassador expressed his deep honor at being accredited as Ethiopia’s Ambassador to Jordan and reaffirmed his commitment to strengthening the long-standing ties between the two nations. He underscored his dedication to enhancing bilateral cooperation across various sectors.

For his part, His Majesty King Abdullah II extended his best wishes to Ambassador Oumer for a successful tenure and assured him of his government’s full support in fostering deeper relations between the two countries.

Following the credential presentation, Ambassador Oumer signed the Honorary Register at the Royal Palace. He later paid tribute at the Mausoleum of the Founding Fathers of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan by laying a wreath in recognition of the strong friendship between Ethiopia and Jordan.

The ceremony was attended by Yousef Issawi, Head of the Presidential Office, and Nancy Namrouqa, Jordanian Minister of State for Foreign Affairs.
