Ethiopian Ambassador meets Kuwaiti official to discuss bilateral relations
Addis Ababa, January 6, 2021 (FBC) –Ethiopian Ambassador to Kuwait, Abdulfetah Abdulahi met with Governor of Al Jahra Governorate, Nasser Al-Hajraf, to discuss bilateral relations and the current situations in Ethiopia.
Ambassador Abdulfetah, said that Ethiopia and Kuwait have been enjoying strong diplomatic, economic and people-to-people relations. He extended gratitude to the Governor for giving protection to Ethiopians living in the Governorate.
He also briefed Al-Hajraf on the latest development in Tigray, with a particular focus on efforts being made in restoring damaged infrastructure, delivery of humanitarian assistance and strengthening the interim administration.
Regarding the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD), Ambassador Abdulfetah said that Ethiopia has firm stance on fair utilization of the Nile waters.
He further said Ethiopia is committed for the continuation of the African Union (AU) led trilateral negotiation on the dam.
Nasser Al-Hajraf said the two countries need to strengthen their relation in investment, tourism, and social sectors and as well as cooperate in the deployment of workers.
He said it is the interest of Kuwait for the difference on the GERD to be resolved through negotiations.
