Ethiopian ambassador encourages Russians studying Amharic language
Addis Ababa, September 27, 2024 (FBC) – Ethiopian Ambassador to Russia, Genet Teshome, encouraged and appreciated the efforts of Russians studying the Amharic language and their teachers in introducing Russian citizens to Ethiopian culture and art.
This week, Ambassador Genet attended the opening ceremony of literature and photography exhibition organized by Amharic students and teachers in Moscow, at the Eastern Literary Center at the Lenin Library.
On the occasion, the Ambassador appreciated the efforts of Russians studying Amharic and their teachers in introducing Russian citizens to Ethiopian culture and art.
He confirmed that the embassy will support educational institutions, the center and students in the future, working together on similar programs.
The ambassador also explained the centuries-old friendship between Ethiopia and Russia.
Recall Russian schoolchildren have been currently teaching Ethiopia’s Amharic language, considered the new step in language education for young Russians and key for building economic, diplomatic, and cultural ties with the Ethiopia as well as the African continent.
