Ethiopian Ambassador discusses with Russian and Swiss counterparts in Sudan

Addis Ababa, February 15, 2021 (FBC) – Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ethiopia to Sudan Yibeltal Aimro has held discussions with his Russian and Swiss counterparts Vladmir Zeltov and Christian Winter on various issues.

The Ethiopian envoy in Sudan has briefed the Ambassadors of Russia and Switherland on latest developments in Tigray, Ethiopia-Sudan border issue and negotiation on the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD).

Ambassador Yibeltal highlighted Ethiopia’s stance regarding GERD and the situation with Sudan.

The Russian Ambassador, expressing gratitude for the explanations, urged the countries to resolve differences with peaceful mechanisms. “Russia insists that circumstances should not be politicized”, he added.

The Swiss ambassador, to his part, witnessed that he had got comprehension about the issues raised by the Ethiopian Ambassador, and recommended peaceful approach for the issues raised.
