Ethiopian Airlines is instrumental in uplifting Africa’s tourism industry: Envoy
Addis Ababa, December 8, 2022 (FBC) – Ethiopian Airlines is instrumental in uplifting the tourism industries of Ethiopia, Côte d’Ivoire, and the continent at large, said Ambassador Shitaye Minale.
Ethiopia’s ambassador to Côte d’Ivoire, Shitaye Minale, paid courtesy calls on Siandou Fofana, the Ivorian Minister of Tourism, and Amadou Koné, the Minister of Transport.
Ambassador Shitaye emphasized Ethiopia’s untapped tourism potential during her discussion with Siandou Fofana and urged investors to look into opportunities to benefit from Ethiopian government incentives.
The Minister, who is also the Chairperson of the WTO Regional Commission for Africa, recognizes the enormous potential for tourism in Ethiopia and promises to work closely with the nation to encourage the growth of the industry there as well as throughout Africa.
The two sides emphasized the key role of Ethiopian Airlines in uplifting the tourism industries of the two countries and the continent at large. Besides, they treasured the important measure taken by the government of Ethiopia in allowing visas on arrival for all Africans.
In the meeting with the Minister of Transport, the two sides raised issues related to bilateral cooperation in the aviation sector and underscored the leading role of Ethiopian Airlines in connecting the people of the two countries and of Eastern and Western Africa.
Both sides noted the need to exploit opportunities created by Ethiopian Airlines flights, including cargo flights, to enhance the economic and people-to-people relations of the two countries and their respective regions.
