Ethiopian Airlines earns over 7 billion USD in revenue
Addis Ababa, July 29, 2024 (FBC) – Ethiopian Airlines Group has disclosed that it generated over 7 billion USD in revenue for the recently concluded Ethiopian fiscal year.
The airline logged an impressive 577,746 flight hours, marking a 19 percent increase from the previous record. According to Mesfin Tasew, the Group’s CEO, Ethiopian Airlines has expanded its international destinations to 139 and domestic routes to 22.
Mesfin also announced that the construction of new airports in Yabelo, Mizan Aman, Gore Metu, Negele Borena, and Debre Markos is expected to be completed by the middle of the 2024/2025 Ethiopian budget year.
During the fiscal year, the airline served a total of 17.1 million passengers, which included 13.4 million international travelers and 3.7 million domestic passengers, the CEO pointed out.
The CEO noted a significant increase in demand for domestic flights, with the previous fiscal year seeing 2.7 million domestic travelers.
