Ethiopian Air Force promotes more than 1,000 officers

Addis Ababa, September 8, 2020 (FBC) –Ethiopian Air Force, the air arm of the National Defence Force, has given promotion of ranks for 1,029 officers.

Commander of the Air Force, Major General Yilma Merdasa, said while awarding the military ranks that the promotion is an invitation for additional responsibilities.

According to the Ethiopian Broadcasting Corporation (EBC), Major General Yilma also urged the officers to do their parts for the success of on-going projects.

Members of the air force pledged to contribute their monthly salaries for ‘Dine for the Nation’ program.

The program aims to raise 3 billion birr in the next two months for three projects- Gorgora in Amhara, Wonchi in Oromia and Koysha in SNNP regional states.
