Ethiopia will maintain strengthened economic cooperation with BRICS countries

Addis Ababa, February 1, 2024 (FBC) – Ethiopia’s BRICS Sherpa and Governor of nation’s central bank, Mamo Mihretu, affirmed Ethiopia’s commitment to continue strengthened economic cooperation with member countries.

Ethiopia through its delegation led by Mamo Mihretu has participated in its first BRICS meeting held in Moscow, Russia.

Mamo held bilateral discussions with representatives of Russian Federation, South Africa, India, Brazil and China on the sidelines of the BRICS meeting.

During the discussions, Mamo assured the representatives of Ethiopia’s unwavering commitment to enhance economic cooperation with BRICS members in areas of trade, investment and tourism sectors.
