Ethiopia welcomes Romania’s initiatives for enhanced bilateral ties
Addis Ababa, January 25, 2024 (FBC) – State Minister for Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Mesganu Arga, received the Romanian Republic Ambassador to Ethiopia, Julia Pataki, in his office today.
During their discussion, Ambassador Mesganu recalled that Ethiopia and Romania have historical and long-standing relations on a bilateral and multilateral level.
He further expressed Ethiopia’s keen interest in enhancing the existing bilateral and multilateral cooperation.
For her part, the Romanian Ambassador, Julia Pataki, asserted that her country is interested in developing its relations with Africa, especially with Ethiopia, in the fields of peace, development, education, food security, and environmental protection, and in cooperating on strategic partnerships.
In response to that, Ambassador Mesganu welcomed Romania’s new strategic initiatives to develop its relations with Africa and Ethiopia in the fields of education and development projects.
He went on to highlight the current state of affairs in the Horn of Africa and expressed Ethiopia’s track record as the source of peace and stability in the region.
