Ethiopia, UK vow to strengthen bilateral ties

Addis Ababa January 31, 2023 (FBC) – Ethiopia’s Ambassador to the UK and Permanent Representative to the International Maritime Organization (IMO), Teferi Melesse Desta, met with Andrew Mitchell, Minister of State, Development and Africa in Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO).

According to the Ethiopian Embassy in London, the two sides exchanged a range of issues of common interest and expressed commitments to maintaining the longstanding partnership between Ethiopia and the United Kingdom, the embassy added.

“We have exchanged a range of issues of common interest and expressed our commitments to maintaining and strengthening longstanding partnership, Ambassador Teferi said in a tweet.

Great Britain was among the first countries to open an embassy in Addis Ababa, while Ethiopia was the first African country to establish an embassy in London, the embassy stated.
