Ethiopia to narrow gaps with UN Commission of Human Rights: Ambassador Redwan

Addis Ababa, July 28, 2022 (FBC) – National Security Advisor of Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed, Ambassador Redwan Hussien and the Justice Minister Gedion Timothewos have briefed UN, EU and U.S. Special Envoys and Ambassadors of US, France Italy, Germany and the UK on current issues.

The Senior Government Officials expressed positions of the Federal government on the ongoing peace efforts in the country.

According to the officials, the Government is ready for talks anytime anywhere without any preconditions in order to resolve peacefully the situation in the North of the country. “Talks should begin without preconditions,” Ambassador Redwan underlined.

Ambassador Redwan noted that AU leads the process and can solicit logistical support from any source

They also briefed the Special Envoys and Ambassador on the efforts made to create collaborative environment and narrow gaps with a commission of experts of UN.

The Special Envoys and the Ambassadors, for themselves, announced that they are allowed for a round trip to Mekele.
