Ethiopia to distribute 50m facemasks ahead of reopening of school

Addis Ababa, October 13, 2020 (FBC) –The Ministry of Education said it is ready to distribute 50 million facemasks to schools.

This was revealed during a consultative forum held today to discuss the reopening of schools in Afar regional states this Ethiopian academic year.

State Minister of Education, Nebil Ahmedi, said at the forum that the facemasks will distributed to 46,000 primary and secondary schools across the country.

He further said additional 500,000 facemasks will be distributed to teachers.

Distribution of the facemasks will start this week, he said.

According to ENA, preparations are also in place to distribute infrared thermometers to regional states.
