Ethiopia to build East Africa region TVET Center of Excellence in Addis Ababa

Addis Ababa, June 17, 2021 (FBC) – Ministry of Science and Higher Education announced preparations to build East Africa Region Technical and Vocational Education Training (TVET) Center of Excellence in Addis Ababa.

The Science and Higher Education Minister, Dr. Samuel Urkata stated that the regional technical and vocational center of excellence is to be built at a budget of 24 Million Dollar secured from the Africa Development Bank.

Whiling laying the cornerstone for the construction of the regional center of Excellence, the Minister said that upon completion the center will play a pivotal role in reinforcing regional integration in the education sector besides enabling to achieve quality of vocational education in the horn and the region at large.

The center will specialize in metals, hide and skin and related fields of trainings, he added.
