Ethiopia to avail houses to 21, 000 workers in industrial parks
Addis Ababa, November 6, 2020 (FBC) – Industrial Parks Development Corporation announced preparations to avail housing units for 21, 000 workers engaged in the sector.
CEO of Industrial Parks Development Corporation, Sandokan Debebe discussed with UN Habitat Ethiopian Manager, Aklilu Fikresellasie and National Program Officer Yohanan Eyob on ways of facilitating residential houses for industrial parks workers with affordable price.
The discussion has been held in line with meeting growing housing demand in the light of the inflow of people from across the country in to areas where industrial parks are built and made operational.
Corporation is working with city administrations and local and international financial institutions pertaining to housing supply for employees of industrial works based on studies conducted so far.
Currently, there are more than 55,000 people working in various industrial parks in Ethiopia, and the number is expected to increase in to 250,000 when all completed manufacturing hubs go operational in the time to come, according to the corporation.
