Ethiopia, the UK hold 1st political dialogue in London
Addis Ababa, March 27, 2025 (FMC) – The first political dialogue between Ethiopia and the United Kingdom took place on 26 March 2026 in London, focusing on mutual priorities for both countries.
During the dialogue, the two sides reviewed the implementation of past cooperation, particularly in the economic, peace, and security sectors. They identified areas for future collaboration and discussed them in depth.
As part of their discussions, the two sides agreed to encourage UK-based multinational companies to take advantage of Ethiopia’s conducive environment and explore opportunities in sectors recently liberalized and opened to foreign investors.
Additionally, they agreed to collaborate more closely to address the challenges faced by foreign investors and enhance economic cooperation for the benefit of the people of the two countries.
While acknowledging the strong cooperation between the two countries in promoting peace and security in the Horn of Africa, particularly in combating terrorism and extremism, the two sides reaffirmed their commitment to working together.
They agreed to coordinate efforts for the peaceful resolution of conflicts and to address the ongoing humanitarian crises in the region.
