Ethiopia, the Netherlands sign MoU for cooperation in horticulture, dairy
Addis Ababa, November 22, 2023 (FBC) – Ethiopia and the Netherlands have signed MoU to work in cooperation in the areas of horticulture and dairy farming.
The agreement aims to support the implementation of the third and second phases of Horti-LIFE and BRIDG+ projects in Ethiopia which are focused on horticulture and dairy development respectively.
State Minister for Agriculture and Horticulture Development to the Ethiopian Agriculture Ministry, Meles Mekonnen (PhD) officially expressed gratitude to the government of the Netherlands for financially supporting projects aimed at increasing productivity in Ethiopia.
He said the horticulture and dairy projects supported by the Netherlands have brought good results calling the new initiative instrumental to build on the achievements in the sectors.
State Minister for livestock and fisheries in the Ministry of Agriculture, Fikru Regassa (PhD), noted that Ethiopia has been implementing the “Bounty of the Basket” Project to ensure food security, adding that the two Netherlands-backed initiatives are supplementary to increase productivity in the agriculture sector.
