Ethiopia, Thailand vow to strengthen cooperation tourism, agriculture and technology transfer
Addis Ababa, June 18, 2022 (FBC) – Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ethiopia to India and non-resident Ambassador to the Royal Kingdom of Thailand, Nepal, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh, Ambassador Tizita held discussion with Wattanawit Gajaseni, Deputy Director General of Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA) on the current situation in Ethiopia as well as bilateral and technical cooperations between the two countries.
Recounting the long standing relations between the two countries, Ambassador Tizita briefed the deputy director general about the current situation in Ethiopia as well as the encouraging peace-building measures taken by the government of Ethiopia.
Ambassador Tizita appreciated trainings and academic scholarships provided under the Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA) for Ethiopian students pursuing their studies in different higher institutions in Thailand and called for further engagements to scale up and widen opportunities to Ethiopian students during the course of the year.
Wattanawit Gajaseni on his part, thanked the Ambassador for the candid discussion and appreciated the friendly diplomatic ties between Ethiopia and Thailand and reaffirmed to intensify engagements in the areas of capacity building and knowledge transfer.
The two sides also stressed further cooperation especially in knowledge and technology transfer in the areas of tourism, agriculture, industry and infrastructure development.
