Ethiopia, Switzerland seek to augment ties through health and investment
Addis Ababa, June 28, 2023 (FBC) – Ambassador Extraordinary & Plenipotentiary of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia to Switzerland, Tsegab Kebebew, presented his letters of credence to Mr. Alain Berset, President of the Swiss Confederation, accrediting him as Ethiopia’s ambassador to Switzerland, in a ceremony held on 27 June 2023 at Bern, Switzerland.
During the discussions held at the ceremony, Ambassador Tsegab briefed the President the progress of the Cessation of Hostilities Agreement signed in Pretoria and current situation of Ethiopia and other regional issues of mutual concern.
They also discussed the growing bilateral relations between the two countries and the potential of cooperation in areas of health and investment in pharmaceuticals. Discussions were also made on the importance of multilateralism for both countries and role of Switzerland in light of its current membership to the United Nations Security Council, according to the Ethiopian Permanent Mission in Geneva.
Ambassador Tsegab also reiterated the firm commitment of the Government of Ethiopia to further strengthen both bilateral and multilateral relations with Switzerland.
Ambassador Tsegab Kebebew is also Permanent Representative of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia to the United Nations Office at Geneva and other international organizations in Switzerland.
