Ethiopia, Sudan discuss issues of mutual interest

Addis Ababa, December 23, 2019 (FBC) – Ethiopia’s Minister of Water, Irrigation and Energy Dr. Seleshi Bekele, held discussions with President of the Sovereign Council of Sudan Lt. Gen Abdul Fattah Al Burhan in Khartoum yesterday.

The two sides discussed on issues of mutual interest, according to the Embassy of Ethiopia in Sudan.

The meeting was held on the sidelines of the tripartite ministerial meeting of Ethiopia, Sudan and Egypt on the filling and operation of the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD).

The two-day meeting, attended by the US Government and the World Bank as observers, was concluded yesterday.

The next round of the meeting will be held 3-4 January, 2020 in the Ethiopian capital Addis Ababa.
