Ethiopia, Somalia ink tourism, trade and transport cooperation agreement
Addis Ababa, January 10, 2022 (FBC) – Ethiopia and Somalia have signed agreement to strengthen cooperation in tourism, trade and transport sectors.
The agreement has been reached between Ethiopian Civil Aviation Authority and the Somali Transport and Civil Aviation to foster collaboration between the two countries in the tourism, trade and transport areas.
The Ethiopian Transport and Logistics Minister, Dagmawit Moges, the Civil Aviation Authority Director General, Getachew Mengistie and Somali Transport and Civil Aviation Minister Fardowsa Osman Egal have attended the signing ceremony.
Dagmawit said on the occasion that the agreement reached will have a paramount significant in transforming the bilateral economic cooperation between the two countries to a higher level.
The Minister also expressed commitment of the government to diligently implement the agreement, commending the deal as vital tool to expedite joint efforts to achieve the agenda 2063.
Somalia’s Transport and Civil Aviation Minister, Fardowsa Osman Egal for her part stated that the agreement will help Somalia to share experiences from Ethiopia in the field of aviation and related sectors.
