Ethiopia, Slovenia agree to cooperate in women empowerment
Addis Ababa, April 11, 2023 (FBC) – Ethiopia and Slovenia have agreed today to work together in the women empowerment, especially in rural areas of the country.
The Minister of Women & Social Affairs of Ethiopia, Ergogie Tesfaye, has met and held discussion with the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign & European Affairs of the Republic of Slovenia, Tanja Fajon,
During the discussion, both parties agreed to work together in the empowerment of women which is strongly associated with greater family prosperity, particularly in Ethiopia’s rural areas.
They also emphasized that solidarity among women in the world is vital for gender equality.
“We had a fruitful discussions that would strengthen the bilateral relationship between Ethiopia and Slovenia. My heartfelt thanks to Tanja Fajon for the positive gesture and strong commitment to cooperate on potential area like scholarship for women, women economic empowerment, awareness on GBV and in other social affairs as well“, said Ergogie, after her meeting with the Slovene delegates.
It is learned that in Ethiopia’s rural areas the stronger role of women is associated with greater family well-being.
