Ethiopia signed successful agreements during PM’s recent visit: Ministry
Addis Ababa, January 17, 2020 (FBC) –Successful agreements were signed during the recent visit of Ethiopia’s Prime Minister to three African states, said the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA).
Early this month, Prime Minister Dr Abiy Ahmed visited the Republic of Guinea, Equatorial Guinea and South Africa, where he also held bilateral talks with the leaders.
In a press conference issued today, Nebiat Getachew, MFA Spokesperson, said different memoranda of understanding were signed between Ethiopia and the countries during the visit of the Prime Minister.
The Spokesperson said the Prime Minister’s visit was successful in reinforcing political, business, investment and tourism cooperation between the countries.
In discussion held with South African President Cyril Ramaphosa, the country agreed to address problems facing Ethiopians residing in that country, he said
He further said preparations are underway for the 33rd Ordinary Session of the Assembly of Heads of State and Government of the African Union (AU).
The Summit will take place from 21 January to 10 February 2020, under the theme “Silencing the Guns: Creating Conducive Conditions for Africa’s Development”.
The Summit will be held at the AU Headquarters in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
He further said that preparations are underway to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the diplomatic relations between Ethiopia and China.
