Ethiopia, Russia reiterate commitment to collaborate in Innovation, Technology sectors
Addis Ababa, February 24, 2022 (FBC) – The Minister of Innovation and Technology of Belete Molla (PhD) received Senator of the Russian Federation and Chairman of the Coordinating Committee for Economic Cooperation with African Countries (AFROCOM) Igor Morozov at his office.
Minister Belete and Senator Igor Morozov have discussed on ways of strengthening collaboration between Ethiopia and Russia in the innovation and technology sectors.
The two agreed to transform the longstanding and historical bilateral relationships between Ethiopia and Russia in the technology sector.
Senator Igor Morozov reiterated commitment of Russia to share its profound expriences in space technology, smart city development, digital technology and information communication service sectors.
The senator also underlined need to cooperate with Ethiopia in peaceful nuclear technology development area.
He also underlined that Russia is ready to collaborate with Ethiopia in trade, investment and multifaceted sectors of cooperation.
The Russian Senator also invited Belete Molla to visit Russia and undertake experience sharing in the country in various areas of engagements.
Russian Ambassador to Ethiopia, Evgeny Terekhin, for his part, stated that his country and Ethiopia have agreed to collaborate in smart city development, peace and security and transport areas.
The two sides have agreed to implement agreements signed between Ethiopia and Russia in several spheres of cooperation.
