Ethiopia, Russia discuss ways of enhancing multifaceted cooperation

Addis Ababa, September 23, 2022 (FBC) – Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ethiopia Demeke Mekonnen met with the Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov on the margins of the 77th Session of the UN General Assembly in New York.

In a thorough exchange of views on key aspects of multifaceted bilateral cooperation, they discussed the prospects for building up Russian-Ethiopian interaction in various fields, with a focus on expanding trade, economic and humanitarian ties.

The two sides confirmed their joint commitment to the further close coordination of Moscow and Addis Ababa in the UN and other multilateral organizations, and discussed the preparation of the second Russia-Africa Summit.
