Ethiopia reports no new cases of COVID-19 in 24 hours
Addis Ababa, April 23, 2020 (FBC) –Ethiopia has reported no new cases of coronavirus (COVID-19) today, the first time since it began issuing daily data last month.
Out of the 965 samples taken over the past 24 hours, none of them have tested positive for the virus, said the Ministry of Health in a statement.
The Ministry warned that “zero positive results among 965 tested individuals do not indicate the decline of COVID-19 in Ethiopia.”
Ethiopia has so far reported 116 confirmed cases of coronavirus, with three deaths and 21 recoveries.
According to the latest data from Johns Hopkins University, more than to 2.6 million cases of coronavirus have been registered globally.
More than 184,000 people have died and more than 723,000 have recovered from the virus.
