Ethiopia reports 195 new COVID-19 cases, two more deaths in 24 hours
Addis Ababa, June 18, 2020 (FBC) –The Ministry of Health has reported 195 new COVID-19 cases out of the 4,853 samples tested in the last 24 hours.
Today’s positive cases have pushed the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the country to 3,954.
The new cases reported today are all Ethiopians aged between 1 and 85 years. Some 90 of them are males and the remaining 105 are females.
Out of the new confirmed cases, Addis Ababa has 144 cases, Amhara and Tigray 12 cases each, Afar and Dire Dawa 7 cases each, Oromai and Somali 4 cases each, Gambella 3 and Harari 2 cases.
Two people have also died of the virus, bringing the total number of deaths to 65.
Some 85 patients have also recovered from the virus, taking the total number of recoveries in the country to 934.
There are now a total of 2,953 active cases in Ethiopia, with 27 of them in a severe condition. The total number of tests conducted so far stands at 202, 214.
