Ethiopia reports 157 new cases, 298 recoveries, 5 deaths in 24 hours
Addis Ababa, June 29, 2020 (FBC) – Ethiopia has reported 157 new coronavirus cases, 298 recoveries and 5 deaths from coronavirus over the last twenty four hours.
Ministry of Health stated that the total laboratory tests conducted within the last 24 hours are 3, 693; of these 157 of them are confirmed positive for COVID 19 and the total confirmed cases as of today are 5,846.
Among the confined cases, 97 of them are male and 60 are female and their age ranges from 1 to 80 years old, the ministry indicated.
Only one of the confirmed cases is a foreign national while the other all are Ethiopians.
Among the new cases 132 are identified from Addis Ababa, 5 from Amhara, 3 from Oromia, 5 from Afar, 3 from Tigray, 3 from Somali, 1 from Benshangul Gumuz Regional states and the remaining 5 from Dire Dawa City Administraion.
Among the total laboratory tests conducted, 52 were from samples collected from dead bodies and 4 of which tested positive for COVID-19. And 1 individual who was in treatment center has passed away. This brings the total death related to COVID-19 in the country to 103, Ministry of Health announced.
Furthermore, 298 people have recovered from the disease bringing the total number of recoveries in the country to 2430.
There are now 3,311 active cases in the country of which 35 are in severe conditions.
