Ethiopia reiterates commitment to strengthen African fraternity
Addis Ababa, October 5, 2022 (FBC) – Ethiopia reaffirmed commitment to continue its leading role in invigorating African fraternity in the continent.
African Fraternity Night was organized at the Residence of the Ambassador of Burundi in Addis Ababa, on October 4, 2022, to further strengthen the fraternity among African countries.
Bikila Hurisa, Coordinator of the Center for Democracy Building at the Prime Minister Office, attended the event among other invited guests.
Bikila, in his remark at the event, recalled the long-standing relationship between Ethiopia and Burundi, adding that the two countries will continue to cooperate in various fields.
He also confirmed that Ethiopia will continue to buttress its efforts in ensuring trust-building peace.
In particular, the Coordinator of the Center emphasized that Ethiopia will play its leading role in fostering African fraternity and mutual relations to a higher level.
On his part, Ambassador Fisseha Shawul, the Director General of African Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs-Ethiopia, said that the interconnection of African countries should be enhanced to coordinate economic and social freedom in order to foster African fraternity.
He also mentioned that the fraternity act lays a great foundation for the development of the leadership role of the future African youth and the extension of the Green Legacy throughout Africa, a strategy introduced by Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed.
Willy Nyamitwe, Ambassador of Burundi in Ethiopia, pointed out that African dreams can be achieved through pan-Africanism as a joint development and cooperation platform.
He reaffirmed that Burundi’s strong support to the aspiration of strong and united Africa, the other initiative introduced by the FDRE Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed, as per MFA Ethiopia.
